The Proposed Itinerary

 

Day 1: Arrival at Dar es Salaam

Arrive at Dar es Salaam International Airport, meet and transfer to a hotel in

the city on bed and breakfast basis for ONE night

Accommodation: Hotel

 

Day 2: Dar – Mikumi National Park 

Depart from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park. We will arrive and check

in for TWO nights on full board basis. After lunch, we will proceed on an

afternoon game drive.

Accommodation: Tented Camp

 

Day 3: In Mikumi National Park 

Our day will begin with a Sunrise game drive in the Park, the best time to take

photos. With our packed breakfast, we will drive until noon, returning for a

hot meal and rest at the camp. Our game viewing will resume late afternoon

for a good sunset photography. Dinner and overnight at the camp

Day 4: Mikumi to Selous Game Reserve

After breakfast, with our packed lunch we will set off for Selous Game

Reserve. This colorful road journey will take approximately six hours as we

pass through picturesque sceneries. We arrive and check in on Full Board

basis then proceed on Sunset Boat Safari in the mighty Rufiji River and get up

close with crocodile and hippo as you observe extraordinary bird life by the

river banks setting in for a night.

Day 5:  Selous Game Reserve

We will take a full day game drive in the Reserve through the foothills of the

Beho Beho range to the Selous Grave and the Hot Springs (Maji Moto) up to

Beho Beho River area. Our picnic lunches will be enjoyed by the lake shores.

We will return to the camp early in the evening for refreshing before a

campfire sundowner and dinner.

Day 6: In Selous

A sunrise walking safari will awaken and refresh our souls.  Accompanied by a

game-ranger, we will walk in silence avoiding disturbance to wildlife as we

observe the fauna and inhaling unique wilderness aura. We will return to the

camp for breakfast and a leisurely morning swimming and relaxing before

lunch and siesta. Late in the afternoon we will set off for a short, sunset game

drive in the reserve, returning for a campfire sundowner and dinner.

Day 7: Selous – Kilwa

We have enjoyed the wilderness, it is now time to bid our farewells and

depart from Selous to spectacular Kilwa coastal town in the southern of

Tanzania; our base for exploration and relaxation. This journey will take most

of the day, checking in at a beach resort on Half Board basis.

Accommodation: Lodge or Hotel

 

Day 8: In Kilwa

Kilwa is world famous for best Big Game Fishing on East African Coast with

good snorkeling and diving sites. Fully equipped vessels are available with

expert crews. Other activities in Kilwa include tour of the spread out ruins in

Kilwa Kisiwani, tour of the hippo pool, dhow cruise, a full day Picnic sail to

Songo Mnara and many more. All these activities can be organized at extra

costs. You have the day at leisure. You may choose to spend the time on the

white sandy beaches, looking out for the regular visiting schools of dolphins,

diving or snorkel the corals of the bay, or take any of the above excursions.

Day 11: Depart Kilwa to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast it is time to pack and go back. Our travel from Kilwa to Dar es

Salaam takes approximately six hours of a good drive. Arrive and drop off at

the airport for your outbound travels (on late evening flights) or take a day

room for a night flight.
